Beaches Seaside Fun Run

The 2019 Fun Run is done and boy did our teachers, kids, and parent volunteers show up! Each of the grades ran more laps than we imagined and our teachers were quite impressive too! Everyone is already talking about next year. Details to follow for 2020!

Fun Run 2019 Corporate Sponsor Request Letter

What: Introducing our first annual fun run!

When: Thursday, March 21st during school hours (final activity of safety week)

Where: This will be a school wide event – all grades will be participating. Runners will go in waves, according to grade and will follow a marked track around car loop. Students can run or walk thus all children should feel they can participate regardless of their running ability.

Why: For the first time ever, we have the opportunity to send our teachers to a local, Waldorf inspired teacher training at UNF created by our very own Dr. Katrina Hall and Dr. Mary Goral. This is an amazing opportunity for our teachers to go deep into the Waldorf ways and be able to invest into our children even more. The more our teachers know, the more our children can grow! For every $3,000 we raise, we can send one teacher from our beaches campus to this summer program.

Who: Beaches PTO, PTO Health & Wellness Committee & Beach Campus Leadership (Ms. Papke & Ms. Gerdes)

How: Rather than having per lap pledges, we are collecting lump sum donations. Our goal is to raise $30,000! While this is a big number, it only requires that each child raises $50 which equates to 5 family members/friends donating $10. Donating is easy – Visit to donate!

Here are some tips to get you going:

-Talk to your kids about it. Get them excited!

-Practice running together as a family. It may only be a block or two but it is sure to be fun and memorable.

-As a family, come up with a specific goal you’d like to raise. Talk with your child about what they will do to meet their goal.

-Have your kids write a letter or make a video asking for donations. Fun things to include are reasons why they love their school, how excited they are about the fun run, and how grateful they would be for any support given.

-We will also be providing a corporate sponsor letter that can be sent to any businesses you feel may want to participate in donating. Keep an eye out for that in your email!

-While the event is not open to spectators due to traffic and safety, we will need lots of volunteers for the day of the run! Stay tuned for a sign up genius listing ways to help. Many hands make light work!
